State of Michigan FY06 Budget
On September 30, 2005, Governor Granholm signed into law HB 4831 (PA 154 of 2005), which included Higher Education appropriations for Fiscal Year 2006. The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor will receive $316.3 million. This represents a decrease of $4.3 million from the $320.6 enacted for FY 2005.
While some state leaders are calling the current plan an increase for the state’s 15 public universities, the bottom line is this: last year the state enacted a budget calling for $320.6 million in support for the UM-AA. This year, the amount is $4.3 million less.
