Forty years ago, the U-M held an "Environmental Teach-In" that drew more than 15,000 participants. It served as a model for the events of the first national Earth Day, on April 22, 1970. Environmental concerns and sustainability have only become more important in the intervening 40 years, and today, a new generation—The Green Generation™— takes up the mantle of protecting our fragile planet. Earth Day 2010 will include lectures, tours, and more, including opportunities for conversation between current students and alumni who participated on that first Earth Day. We hope you'll get involved!
